TGIF :Chilli Fish

How many of us like fish fry..I totally adore fried fish. My kids love to eat fish and my husband can’t eat lunch without fish and I would prefer fish fry to fish curry anytime. Add a little zing to your everyday fish fry with this finger licking recipe for chilli fish.

We had this chilli fish from Spice Junction a popular restaurant in Singapore serving Kerala cusine.  We often order from them for parties and their food is quite good and has a home cooked taste. And once while ordering fish fry the person suggested that we go for the chilli fish instead of the normal fried fish. The chili fish tasted just excellent it was this fried fish (Batang/King fish) served on a bed of caramelized onions and tomatoes and dry red chillies. It tasted so heavenly and it was the perfect combo for rice. I have been making this chilli fish for quite some time now and it’s a big hit at home. And believe me it’s easy to make with any type of fish that you prefer.  If love fish then this is something that you got to try..

Notes:

  • The recipe is good with any type of large fish that you like to fry
  • You can break the dry chillies into two while frying if you like it to be more spicy or even add 1/2 tsp. of red chilli powder to the onions.

Happy weekend :)
